Healthcare services and information technology company McKesson Pharmacy Systems & Automation (MPS&A) has released its McKesson Mobile Delivery application for Apple iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPad mini.

The Mobile Delivery app can scan prescription labels, process credit or FSA cards, capture all payment and pharmacy-related signatures and email receipts. Within the pharmacy, the app supports drive-through services.

Developed in partnership with payment processor Sage Payment Solutions, the payments division for Sage North America, the McKesson Mobile Delivery app interfaces with a card reader that attaches to any Apple iOS device through the earphone socket and securely encrypts every swipe. Funds from swiped payments are deposited directly into pharmacy bank accounts within one to two business days.

Additional features of the McKesson Mobile Delivery app include controlled substance tracking that records the name and state or federal identification of the person receiving prescriptions that are classified as government regulated. The recorded identification information as well as all transactions and signatures captured on the device can be monitored and viewed in real time using an online portal.
