Luup, MoneyGram plan mobile remittances service

Mobile payment provider Luup International Ltd has joined forces with global money transfer company MoneyGram International to develop a mobile money transfer service by making use of the latters global agent network and Luups mobile payment services.

With the new service, agents and their customers will be able to send money around the world by using any mobile phone or network. Luup enables banks, corporate customers, exchange houses and institutions to offer mobile payment processing, mobile payment interfaces and virtual mobile phone accounts.

In related news, MoneyGram has announced a partnership with South Korean financial services provider Shinhan Bank to offer MoneyGram money transfer service at the banks 850 branch locations. The companys global network includes 180,000 agent locations in 190 countries.
