French provider of payment products and services Ingenico has entered a partnership with IRN Payment Systems (IRN), a US-based payment processing services company.

Under the terms of the contract, Ingenico will provide IRN with its PCI-DSS certified ROAM mobile payments application along with the ROAMpay Swipe card reader that operates off the merchants phone audio jack.

The mobile software, combined with the encrypted card reader, is set to turn merchants smartphones into mobile Point-of-Sale (POS) devices. The Ingenico ROAM Mobile Payment software and the swipe card reader are compatible with various mobile devices including BlackBerry, Android, iPad, and the iPhone (2G, 3G and 4G).

Ingenico’s ROAM Mobile Payment service is powered by ROAM Data, Ingenico’s m-commerce services provider and partner. The Ingenico ROAM Mobile Payment solution provides secure transactions through ROAMs PCI-certified payment gateway.

Most recently, Ingenico has expanded its products portfolio with the addition of a new range of iPP320/350 PIN Pads. The new devices include a magnetic card reader and an EMV smart card reader as well as the MasterCard PayPass and Visa PayWave-approved integrated contactless technology. The PIN Pads can be connected to any type of payment system via a RS232, USB and Ethernet/IP serial ports, making them compatible with all types of connection required for the market. The iPP320/350 range also includes a Kensington security slot designed for anti-theft protection.
