InMobi introduces InMobi SmartPay service

Global mobile ad network InMobi has launched its InMobi SmartPay performance-based mobile payments offering.

The newly-launched service is expected to work as a mobile checkout offering that uses direct to carrier billing. As part of future developments, the company is planning to make several forms of mobile payment methods available for its service by the end of 2011, including credit cards, PayPal and local mobile wallets.

The InMobi SmartPay is expected to provide users with several features, such as analytics tools for transaction performance insights, as well as integration with the InMobi ad network.

The service is currently available to over one billion consumers in seven countries, including the US, the UK, Germany, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Malaysia. In addition, InMoi is intending to expand the use of the service to over three billion consumers in 30 countries by the end of 2011.

InMobi SmartPay service is expected to be available for the general market in Q3 2011.
