Thursday 1 July 2010 11:45 CET | News

Google has made available Android Payment Extension, an application designed to enable online-based mobile merchants to store and accept payments via Google Checkout and Android.

According to Google Checkouts official blog, merchants can start using the payments service after completing a series of prerequisite steps like signing up for Google Checkout, creating a webstore, listing the items for sale in a Google Spreadsheet and finally, installing the Android Payment Extension.

Once customers confirm the purchase they want to make, participating merchants can start creating a cart on their PC with the items chosen. Further on, they need to click the green Checkout with Android button and have the customer scan the QR code displayed with their phone. The QR code will direct clients to the buy page where they can complete their purchase.
