Dutch digital security company Gemalto has extended its mobile payment software solution to include the Western Union Money Transfer service.

Gemalto’s LinqUs Mobile Payment Platform has been certified through Western Union’s Mobile Vendor Program to provide end users with new options to send and receive money internationally with their mobile phones.

Gemalto’s LinqUs mobile payment platform allows consumers to use mobile phones to access bank accounts, make payments and peer-to-peer transfers as well as buy airtime.

Gemalto delivers electronic passports and identity cards, two-factor authentication devices for online protection, smart credit/debit and contactless payment cards, as well as subscriber identification modules (SIM) and universal integrated circuit cards (UICC) in mobile phones.

In recent news, global money transfer company MoneyGram has entered an agreement with Gemalto to provide MoneyGram services over Gemalto’s LinqUs mobile payment platform.
