Fortumo launches cross-platform mobile payments for HTML5 apps

M-payments services provider Fortumo has released a cross-platform mobile payments service for HTML5-supported apps. In turn, app and game developers are set to monetize users of mobile web apps in 60 countries, on any mobile device, with a single integration.

With this release, Fortumo is set to provide web app developers with a mobile payment tool that is currently available to native app developers.

The cross-platform is optimised for mobile browsers integrated with iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Symbian, Java and Bada, including tablet devices.

While Fortumo has carrier billing partnerships in 60 countries, with 230 carriers, where its available, it automatically falls back to Premium SMS where its not.
