Cincinnati Reds, Tappit join forces for new mobile payments tech

The global payment and data ecosystem for sports, events, stadiums, and venues Tappit has unveiled a multi-year partnership with the Cincinnati Reds

This partnership will help the Reds with the implementation of contactless mobile payment technology throughout Great American Ball Park. This is Tappit’s second MLB partnership and fifth in American professional sports.

As such, Tappit will provide the technology for Reds Pay, a white label mobile payment solution for Reds fans through the teams’ MLB Ballpark app, which will allow fans to make purchases using only their cell phone. Fans can link any bank or credit card to the app to enjoy a frictionless payment experience, helping fans purchase food, drinks, and merchandise. 

The Reds are also enabled the ability to send personalised vouchers and benefits directly to a fans’ mobile wallet. Via the data and insights delivered by the platform, the Reds will maximise the fan experience and ensure operations are as efficient as possible.
