Bell Direct picks Sybase 365 for mobile broker service in Australia

Australian stockbroker Bell Direct has chosen Sybase 365, to power its new mobile share trading platform. The service is designed to enable stockbrokers to trade shares via SMS. Sybase 365 acts as the gateway between Bell Directs trading platform and investors mobile phones.

Investors submit their order by SMS and receive a confirmation in return. Before trading their shares, investors must enter a PIN number for identification, then the text-based order becomes a registered trading process in the corporate order management system. The mobile broking service is available free of charge and customers pay only for a standard SMS, namely AUD 0.55.
