Financial services provider Barclays Bank of Kenya has teamed up with mobile network operator Safaricom to launch a new mobile banking services suite dubbed Hello Money.

Hello Money allows Barclays Bank of Kenya clients to check their account balances, carry out utility bill payments and money transfers either between Barclays accounts or between banks via their handsets. The mobile banking service includes a series of security features regarding customer data protection. Thus, customers access the Hello Money portal via a secure gateway, using a personalized identification number. Also, no personal information is stored on consumers’ phones, with user data being instead stored in the bank’s servers.
