Financial institution Ameriana Bank has entered an agreement with Allied Payment Network, a US-based start-up focused on online payment software, to launch the latter’s Picture Pay mobile bill payment service.

Allied’s Picture Pay is a mobile point, shoot and bill payment application for smartphones, enabling Ameriana Bank’s customers to pay bills by taking a picture of the bill with their mobile devices. Picture Pay is an added functionality to Ameriana Bank’s existing mobile banking app.

With Picture Pay, once a customer takes a picture of a bill with their smartphone, they enter the amount and payment date and the bill is paid. Picture Pay’s technology reads the data from the bill and its built-in analytics confirm the biller. Then, Picture Pay automatically executes through Allied Payment Network.

In addition to Picture Pay, Ameriana Bank’s mobile app enables customers to review account balances, view transaction history, deposit cheques, place a hold on a lost or stolen debit card and transfer money between accounts, among other functionalities.

In recent news, Allied Payment Network has closed a reseller partnership with Access Softek, a US mobile banking products and services company.
