The new mobile banking service enables small business customers to check the balance of their accounts, request mini-statements and top-up prepay mobile phones directly from their bank accounts. The service is protected by a personal passcode and any information displayed on the phone is automatically deleted. No personal details are stored on the mobile phone. The service is offered for free to Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank customers until 31 August 2008. From 1 September 2008, customers will be charged with GBP 1.50 each month. To start using the service, existing customers have to register their details at the bank’s website.
