Accumulate UK changes its name to Flexion

Friday 28 January 2011 10:26 CET | News

Accumulate UK Limited, part of the Swedish mobile payment services provider Accumulate Group, has changed its name to Flexion.

Flexion enables billing and Digital Rights Management (DRM) to be applied to mobile content without changing the original source code.

Flexion’s wrapper technology creates a small amount of code that is ‘wrapped’ around the original content. The wrapped code enables other services, including billing options and DRM, or allows users to search for new content with Flexion Discovery.

Via Flexion, content owners are able to create pricing options, from “Try and Buy” through to “All you can eat” models, offering flexibility and moving content purchasing away from a binary decision.

Due to the DRM services, Flexion will be extended to Android content. Flexion has recently entered partnerships with UK-based billing, content and mobile messaging platforms provider txtNation and US mobile payments provider Boku.

Flexion provides its technology to customers including Hutchison 3G, Telefonica O2, Orange Group, Sony Ericsson, Alcatel, Nokia and EA.
