Monday 29 November 2021 10:17 CET | News

British telecommunications services provider Virgin Media O2 has partnered with media trust The Big Issue to provide the latter with free mobile data for its vendors.

Through the partnership, over 200 of Big Issue’s in-store vendors will receive free data plans monthly, allowing them to make cashless sales and access online services. The monthly plan consists of a free sim, unlimited calls and texts, and 7GB of data for cashless services.

According to an O2 media release, the telecommunications service provider pledges to help over 255,000 people living in poverty stay connected to the digital world and experience new opportunities by the end of 2023.

The partnership between O2 and The Big Issue also aims to help small entrepreneurs boost their sales as a new cashless era starts unfolding in the UK, due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
