American Express, Groupon Hong Kong enter partnership

American Express and online group vendor Groupon Hong Kong have teamed up to enable customers to redeem membership rewards on online group-buying space.

Groupon Hong Kong has become a membership rewards partner of American Express and offers American Express cardmembers the possibility to redeem their membership rewards on online group-buying websites.

In recent news, Groupon has acquired Zappedy, a provider of technology products for local businesses.Via data gathered from direct feeds and credit card aggregators, Zappedy enables commerce, entertainment and mobile advertising applications that recognize customers’ offline purchases as well as their online activities. The terms of the deal between the parties have not been disclosed.
