Under the terms of the partnership, local relief workers in the Germen cities of Solingen and Koblenz have been issued with procurement cards, which are expected to allow THW staff to make cashless purchases at local THW providers.
The project is set to start with 50 procurement cards, while the THW aims to increase the number of cashless local purchases in the medium term. By using this system, the agency is able to record purchases automatically and analyse them.
With this project, the THW is expected to analyse how budgeted money is spent locally with individual providers.
If the pilot project is successful, the THW aims to roll out the cooperation nationwide to all 668 branches in Germany.
