As a result, the recognition is expected to enable new capabilities for Bottomline’s SWIFT Access Service by permitting the transfer of e-invoicing messages across a global financial messaging network. By connecting Bottomline’s Paymode-X online payment and invoicing system to SWIFT, banks can send and receive e-invoices on behalf of any non-SWIFT members that are part of the Paymode-X network.

The company’s offerings are used to automate and manage processes involving payments, invoicing, global cash management, supply chain finance and transactional documents.
Bottomline acquired the PayMode service from Bank of America in 2009. At that time, the two organizations entered a multi-year agreement to deliver services for integrated payables automation.
