ACI Worldwide to acquire Official Payments

US-based international payment systems provider ACI Worldwide has entered into a definitive transaction agreement with Official Payments, a provider of electronic bill payment services.

Under the terms of the agreement, ACI Worldwide is set to acquire Official Payments in an all cash transaction for USD 8.35 per share. The boards of directors of both companies have unanimously approved this transaction.

Official Payments provides electronic payment services for approximately 3,000 clients across US, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. Official Payments services enable government agencies, educational institutions, utility companies, charitable organizations and other billers to accept payments by credit card, debit card and electronic cheque via mobile, web, telephone and point-of-sale.

ACI Worldwide provides electronic payments and banking services for more than 2,600 financial institutions, retailers and processors around the world.

In recent news, ACI Worldwide has been awarded the SWIFT Certified Application Payments label for its ACI Money Transfer System.
