Zwipe, a biometric technology company, has teamed up with Tappy Technologies, a wearables technology provider, to launch biometric enabled wearable payment devices.

With this agreement Tappy will be licensing Zwipe’s core intellectual property, enabling biometric authentication in a range of form factors. The wearable company is a global provider of tokenization services, providing the essential elements to enable wearable payment applications for payment schemes, issuers and fashion labels.

Zwipe is a biometric technology company developing biometric authentication solutions that function without the need for batteries or fixed power supply and external databases. Zwipes solutions can be implemented in a wide range of high volume applications adapted to key three areas; payment, access control, and ID.

The two companies expect to demonstrate the first prototype before the end of 2018.
