These are the findings of a recent report, called the “Voice Biometrics Authentication Best Practices: Overcoming Obstacles to Adoption”. The main purpose of the research is to evaluate previous voice biometric projects as well as the current industry landscape in order to identify a number of practices to introduce the technology.
According to the source, voice biometrics can act as a part of a multi-layer authentication process to help reduce fraud and to confirm the user’s identity.
Opus Research has also forecasted that the global number of registered voiceprints will increase from USD 10 million in 2012 to over USD 25 million in 2015.
The study has also indicated that the main practices which should be taken into account when introducing voice biometrics to their customers are:• Ensure security is balanced with customer usability• Engage stakeholders early in the process and leverage existing resources• Willingness to adapt
The study has been released by ValidSoft, a global supplier of fraud prevention, authentication and transaction verification services, in collaboration with research house Opus Research.
