Pennsylvania State University deploys Digipass authentication suite from Vasco

US and Swiss-based strong authentication, e-signature and security systems provider Vasco Data Security has teamed up with The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) to provide the latter with its Digipass authentication suite.

Under the terms of the agreement, Penn State is set to use the Digipass technology to provide its staff with direct electronic access to its administration services. The university already employs two-factor authentication for online access to academic and financial records in its administrative database. Vasco’s Digipass services suite is expected to add an extra security layer for Penn State staff members during the login procedure. This is done using a one-time password generated by Digipass tokens and which users input into the applications interface together with their login name and static password, thus providing positive proof of identity.
