OneID inks deal with four e-commerce platform vendors

OneID, a provider of digital identity services, has entered an agreement with four e-commerce platform vendors, namely Marketlive, Jagged Peak, ShopVisible and Acadaca.

Under the terms of the deals, OneID will provide authentication and digital identity technologies for merchants. Via OneID, consumers will not have to use multiple usernames and passwords, they will be able to sign into websites and make payments online.

According to Gartner, an information technology research and advisory company, e-commerce continues to increase with sales of the top 500 North American retailers growing 18 percent to USD 150 billion in 2010, from USD 127 billion in 2009. However, according to a study conducted by Listrak, a provider of marketing services for online retailers, the average shopping cart abandonment rate jumped from 71 percent to 75 percent in H1 2011.
