Global provider of content and technology services LexisNexis has released two new multi-factor authentication (MFA) services to help financial services, health care, government and retail organizations authenticate individuals who perform repeated high-risk, high-value transactions through remote channels, including online, mobile and voice.

LexisNexis supports its current product suite of identity proofing and authentication services including Flex ID, Instant Authenticate, InstantID, InstantID Q&A, Instant Verify and TrueID with additional authentication methods for repeated access, including one-time password and voice biometrics.

Adding to TrueID fingerprint biometrics, the new suite of MFA services include:
• LexisNexis One Time Password (OTP), an authentication method which enables business and government organizations to identify high-risk, high-value customer transactions. OTP sends offers an alphanumeric code which can be sent via text message, e-mail or phone on a device the user currently possesses;
• LexisNexis Voice Biometrics, a biometrics speaker verification system which checks speakers’ identity based on their voice.

The newly launched services will be available through LexisNexis Integrated Voice Response (IVR) on Demand, which includes identity proofing and voice biometrics tools via a hosted IVR.

Identify fraud is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the US. According to Javelin Strategy and Research’s annual Identity Fraud Report published in February 2012, total fraud has reached USD 18 billion in 2011.
