Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks launch online fraud prevention service

Tuesday 12 July 2011 13:15 CET | News

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have launched a service to protect customers against cyber-attacks, online media outlet computerweekly.com reports.

The newly-launched service is based on online banking security services provider Trusteers Rapport software to protect customers from online fraud. When customers connect to the bank online, Rapport verifies if they are really connected to the banks genuine website and not a fake website created by cyber criminals. Once the banking website is verified, Rapport locks down communication between the customers computer and the banks website.

Rapport Trusteer is set to protect the customers computer and internet connection by creating a tunnel for communication with the bank, preventing criminals from using malware to steal log-in data and tamper with transactions.
