Nasdaq has partnered US-based startup Noble Markets to power a marketplace for trading Bitcoins and related digital-currency assets, online media outlet Reuters unveils.

As part of the agreement, Noble Markets will use Nasdaqs X-stream trading system. Launched in 2009, Bitcoin allows people to conduct transactions over the internet. The virtual currency has come under regulators scrutiny in the US and Europe following a series of high-profile scandals such as the bankruptcy of Japan-based Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox.
