Coinsetter acquires Canadian Virtual Exchange

Coinsetter, a US-based Bitcoin exchange, has acquired Canadian Virtual Exchange (Cavirtex), a Bitcoin trading platform which recently shut down.

According to sources, the deal was valued at USD 2 million, marking the first merger deal in the Bitcoin exchange market.

Cavirtex shut down in March 2015 following a breach that compromised security information including password hashes.
