Tuesday 5 April 2016 00:18 CET | News

Bitwala has raised about EUR 800,000 to boost its online bitcoin payment service and grow its customer base and operations team.

Investors in the round included KfW Banking Group and Digital Currency Group. The startup sought to downplay the significance of its new capital, choosing instead to emphasize its dedication to its service and customers.

Founded in 2012, the startup allows users to transfer EUR over the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) payments using Bitcoin.
