Eskimo has partnered with Triple-A to enable stablecoin payments for its global eSIM plans.
Through the partnership, Eskimo will integrate Triple-A’s payments infrastructure to offer stablecoins at checkout. According to the companies, this allows Eskimo to respond to changing payment preferences among its customer base without directly managing stablecoin-related processes such as conversion, custody, and compliance, which remain with Triple-A.
Dennis Lee, chief executive officer at Eskimo, said the company aims to give customers a further way to pay for travel data while keeping the checkout process simple. Eric Barbier, founder and chief executive officer of Triple-A, said the growth of eSIM adoption has been accompanied by rising demand among digitally native travellers for payment methods such as stablecoins.
Launch offer and market context
In order to mark the partnership, new Eskimo users can redeem a complimentary 1GB global eSIM plan by downloading the Eskimo app and entering the code ‘Triple-A’ during account registration. No purchase is required, and the offer is valid until 30 November 2026. Redemption is limited to new Eskimo users.
The partnership follows Triple-A’s prior collaboration with Wego, a travel booking platform operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which was announced separately. Triple-A has stated it works across multiple segments of the travel industry to support stablecoin payment integration.
At the same time, the move reflects a broader pattern in the travel and payments sectors, where digital-first services such as eSIMs are increasingly paired with alternative payment rails. For travel technology providers, offering stablecoin settlement can reduce dependency on card networks and cross-border payment intermediaries, while for payment institutions such as Triple-A, travel represents a use case where recurring, cross-border transactions align with the properties of stablecoins, including faster settlement and reduced currency conversion friction. The extent to which this translates into wider adoption among travel consumers will depend on continued growth in both eSIM usage and stablecoin acceptance at the point of sale.
