Wednesday 24 March 2010 09:04 CET | News

Wells Fargo has joined forces with Visa to introduce a service for the bank’s clients who have Visa credit cards.

The program, dubbed Rapid Alerts, will enable customers to monitor their spending while detecting potentially fraudulent activity. VisaNet, Visa’s processing network, will send cardholders alerts on behalf of Wells Fargo via SMS or e-mail. These customers may select the transaction types that trigger an alert, including transactions that exceed a USD amount chosen by the cardholder, international transactions, CNP transactions, cash withdrawals from an ATM machine, declined transactions or gasoline transactions. Rapid Alert messages will indicate the amount, time and date of the transaction, as well as currency conversion and information relating to the merchant, such as name and location.

Wells Fargo credit card customers can sign up for the service at rapidalerts.wellsfargo.com. In addition to joining the Rapid Alerts program, Wells Fargo customers can access their accounts with Wells Fargo Mobile Banking. Wells Fargo clients can bank on the go via text banking, an iPhone application that can be accessed by searching for Wells Fargo Mobile from the iTunes App Store and also via the mobile website at WF.com.
