Venture Infotek, Diners Club International enter merchant acquiring deal

Venture Infotek, an Indian transaction processing company has signed a merchant acquiring agreement with Diners Club International, a Discover Financial Services division.

According to the deal between the companies, Venture Infotek is to offer single source electronic payment services for the acceptance of Diners Club and Discover cards across merchant categories including restaurants, hotels, airlines, travel agents and major retail outlets across India. Prior to the agreement, Diners Club cards were accepted at only nearly 12,000 terminals across the country. The partnership will improve the card acceptance to over 172,000 terminals out of the total 470,000 terminals in India, the online edition of The Economic Times reports.

Venture Infotek manages payment card and other transactions from over 165,000 merchant locations in the country. With acceptance in more than 185 countries, 14 million merchant locations, and access to over 1 million ATMs, Diners Club provides financial services to individuals, small businesses and corporations.
