RFI Appoints Korean Agent for Cellular and Smart Card Services

Radio Frequency Investigation Ltd (RFI) has appointed Seoul-based VMK Inc as its agent for Korea. VMK will provide local support to RFIs existing customer base and grow RFIs cellular and smart card test services in the region. Increasing its activity in S. E. Asia is part of RFIs long term strategy, the Korean cellular test market is thought to be worth around £26m (26 million pounds sterling) as manufacturers expand their horizons from CDMA and show interest in GSM and 3G markets. RFI is expecting to make further announcements for Japan and China in the final quarter of this year. RFI delivers development and conformance services for cellular mobiles, chipsets and accessories. Established in 1987, RFI became the first compliance laboratory to deliver 3G conformance testing and remains the best equipped single site laboratory worldwide, offering the widest range of platforms and breadth of testing currently available. RFI has a global customer base that includes Tier 1 mobile handset manufacturers.
