French payment technology services provider Paybox Services has entered an agreement with US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless.

As part of the deal, Verizon Wireless helps ensure that Payboxs virtual electronic and card present payment services comply with PCI DSS international payment card industry data-security standards.

Verizon Business professional consultants have provided audit, management and implementation services to enable Paybox to renew its PCI DSS international payment card industry data-security standards, including a review of its existing policies to identify areas of non-compliance.

Paybox Services provides payment services in more than 40 countries, processing 8 million payment transactions every month. The Paybox system, a virtual electronic payment terminal, is set to support e-commerce transactions by processing electronic payments from multiple sources such as call and data input centers, WAP and i-mode, interactive voice servers and e-commerce sites.

Verizon issued the Verizon Payment Card Industry Compliance Report, in October 2010 to report on the state of compliance with the PCI DSS.
