Nordea has chosen to offer its customers Todos Argos Mini II. The reader will be used together with a PKI application, e-ID, on the Proton Prisma EMV cards Nordea is issuing from Q4 this year. Nordea estimates a need for approximately 110 000 smart card readers during the upcoming 12 months, which indicates an estimate that 10-20% of its customers will activate the e-ID functionality on their EMV card. The new reader has a flat design and weighs only 55 grams. The readers design makes the distribution both simple and cost efficient, since the reader fits through a mail slot and postage is low. Drivers are available through Windows Update, so installation is simple and requires little support.
