India: Citibank, Visa team up to launch new travel prepaid card

Visa and Citibank India, a subsidiary of global financial services company Citibank, have entered a partnership to launch the Citibank World Money Visa Platinum travel prepaid card, online news outlet in.news.yahoo.com reports.

Mainly aimed at leisure travellers and people travelling abroad for medical, educational or business purposes, the new card will be available in six foreign currencies, namely, USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD and SGD, at selected Citibank branches as well as at authorised exchange agents. Aside from foreign exchange rates, the card’s features include fraud protection insurance, international calling card options as well as an international customer care helpline.

In recent news, Visa and US Bank have inked contracts with US mobile contactless payment services company DeviceFidelity, global banking and payments technology provider FIS and mobile banking and payment services provider Monitise to jointly deliver mobile payments services.
