Following the deal, GiftCards.com is to add discounted gift card products to its portfolio, while Swapagift.com is to focus on card redemption services. GiftCards.com also pays for unused gift cards sent by customers through postal services.
As part of the acquisition, Swapagift.com’s president MJ Kelly and CEO Michael Kelly will continue to oversee Swapagift.com. Founded in 2003 as a gift card trading exchange, Swapagift.com allowed customers to buy, sell and trade unwanted gift cards.
In addition to Giftcards.com and Swapagift.com, Wolfe.com also owns Omni Prepaid, Mycoupons.com, SteringInvestments and Jambo Media. GiftCards.com offers Visa gift cards and discounted merchant gift cards from over 200 national retailers, supermarkets, and restaurants in the US. Wolfe.com was founded by US entrepreneur Jason Wolfe.
