Fiserv to provide United Consumers Credit Union with gateway service for credit card transactions

Monday 17 August 2009 14:10 CET | News

US financial services technology company Fiserv has teamed up with the United Consumers Credit Union (UCCU) to provide the latter with its gateway service for credit card transactions.

Under the terms of the deal, UCCU – which already employs an account processing solution from Fiserv – is set to employ the technology provider’s gateway service to consolidate its card based offerings for credit, debit and ATM cards. Via the credit gateway service, Fiserv acquires credit transactions directly from Visa or MasterCard and forwards them to issuers or their core processor for host authorization.

As part of its processing core competency, Fiserv offers secure card production services, including design, production, embossing, personalisation and encoding capabilities. Fiserv operates over 19,000 ATMs nationwide and currently processes around 600 million credit, debit and ATM transactions per month.
