Equifax acquires multi-factor authentication company Anakam

US-based consumer credit reporting company Equifax has acquired Anakam, a global provider of multi-factor authentication, identity proofing and verification services.

With the new acqusition, Equifax aims to combine its eIDverifier service with Anakams Identity Suite in order to create an integrated platform to ensure two-factor identification as well as no-touch, risk-based identity verification and identity proofing services.

Founded in 2004, Anakam is an IT software and services provider of multi-factor authentication which enables authentication and identity management across government or commercial market segements. Anakam’s product, the Anakam Identity Suite, includes two-factor authentication, credentialing, secure collaboration, remote identity proofing as well as verification functionalities.

Terms of the recently completed transaction have not been disclosed yet.
