Chase rolls out Chase GiftShelf mobile gift card application

Thursday 9 December 2010 09:21 CET | News

Chase Card Services, a division of JP Morgan Chase, has rolled out Chase GiftShelf, a mobile gift card application.

Powered by CashStar, a digital gifting and incentives company, the mobile gift card application enables users to browse for gift cards from a number of retailers and restaurants and then pay using their Chase credit card or their Chase Ultimate Rewards points. The service allows customers to send a gift card to anyone via text message or email. In addition, before sending the gift card, consumers can also create a personalized message and attach it to the gift.

Gift card recipients can use their cards in-store or online with a smartphone or with a printed copy of the confirmation email. The use of the smartphone devices for redemption is based on merchant participation and the gift card instructions will clearly state if the option is available. Available through the Apple iTunes App Store, the Chase GiftShelf application is currently compatible with the iPhone, the iPod Touch and the iPad.
