US credit card firm Capital One is sacking 750 staff at its operations in Nottingham, UK, and is shifting most of the jobs to offshore locations. Capital One will cut call centre, account servicing and support job positions.

The 750 jobs represent approximately 40 percent of Capital One’s 2000 staff in the UK. The move is part of Capital One’s restructuring plans that includes 2000 job cuts across its global operations. Recently, HSBC said it was closing a payments processing centre in Livingstone, Scotland, resulting to the loss of 164 jobs.
