Under the terms of the agreement, Bell ID enables Oberthur Card Systems to offer sophisticated smart card management functionality to prospective and existing clients. A turnkey solution, featuring Oberthur Card Systems personalisation and production capacities and Bell IDs ANDiS technology, enables card issuers to centrally manage the production and life cycle of Open-Platform smart cards and their applications. The solution takes full advantage of the dynamics of smart card schemes and it facilitates issuers to easily modify and register content after cards have been issued (post-issuance personalisation). Furthermore, this combination will stimulate card usage, as new applications can be activated as soon as they are available, catering for any current and future requirement.
