Bank of China, China Unionpay launch Platinum card in Singapore

Bank of China (BOC) has joined forces with China Unionpay (CUP), the only National Bankcard Association in China, to launch the BOC Great Wall CUP Platinum Card in Singapore.

The initiative is aimed at travellers and businessmen who travel to China, Hong Kong and Macau. According to statistics revealed by China National Tourist Office, in 2007, there were 1.2 million Singapore tourists in China.
The Platinum card is the first Singapore dollar denominated CUP credit card to be launched across the region. Cardholders are to gain access to cash withdrawals at over 148,000 ATMs and they will be able to use Platinum cards at more than 17,000 merchants.
