American Express Open rolls out iPhone version of its social networking site

American Express Open, a US-based payment card issuer for small businesses, has launched a mobile version of its social networking site, Open Forum, for the iPhone platform.

The new iPhone application is set to enable members of the Open Forum network to read the latest articles posted by Open Forum experts, bookmark, share as well as search for popular topics, keywords or authors. In addition, users will be able to update connections on Connectodex, a virtual rolodex of business owners designed to facilitate the connection and sharing abilities for Open Forum members.

American Express Open also intends to extend the availability of its Open Forum content on other smartphone devices such as the Blackberry.

Launched in 2007, Open Forum is an online resource and networking site designed to help business owners grow their enterprises by helping forge meaningful business connections and providing access to practical information.
