Zūm Rails, an all-in-one instant payment platform and embedded finance provider, has partnered with Mastercard to launch card programs in Canada, optimising business payments across various industries.
These reloadable cards will help businesses provide optimal expense management, quicker wage access, customer rewards, and real-time disbursements and spending flexibility, allowing companies and their customers to control funds quickly, securely, and accurately.
This collaboration will enable businesses to access a new product vertical, increase customer loyalty, and extend brand reach, backed by Mastercard’s global network, which connects customers, businesses, and banks through fast, secure, and optimal payments across 200 countries.
- Manage business expenses with control and clarity by providing co-branded, reloadable prepaid cards to employees for corporate spending. This enables near real-time disbursements, spend tracking, and separation of personal and business finances;
- Accelerate wage access and contractor payouts by enabling companies to offer quicker access to earned wages or pay contractors instantly through loading funds onto prepaid cards, improving financial flexibility and experience for workers;
- Deliver branded customer experiences, enabling businesses to launch reloadable prepaid cards with benefits or services like credit-building, to help reach underserved customers.
Each program is fully managed by Zūm Rails, from onboarding and compliance to transaction processing and customer support. Businesses can customise the prepaid cards with their own branding and reload them instantly through Zūm Rails' existing payment infrastructure.
Zūm Rails' services for the Canadian public
In 2025, Zūm Rails planned to introduce payment features in Canada. In July 2025, the company partnered with Western Union Canada to enable quick and efficient money transfers between Canada and over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
In addition, the process of integrating Zūm Rails APIs into Western Union’s network was set to enable the company to drive real-time movement of funds for Western Union customers using Interac eTransfer. With the use of Interac eTransfer, clients could fund their money transfers in Canada instantly and then send the money anywhere in the world.
