Tesco to offer free delivery for its Clubcard Plus members

According to Retail Gazette, Tesco plans to roll out a free delivery offering for its Clubcard Plus members to catch up with the similar feature that Amazon announced recently. Tesco launched its loyalty scheme Clubcard Plus in November 2020 that works together with its old membership programme on which customers can earn points.

Moreover, shoppers currently get 10% off their bills twice a month, up to a maximum of GBP 20 for each shop, for a subscription fee of GBP 7.99 a month.Besides, the company has increased its delivery slots from 600,000 a week to 1.4 million, as the coronavirus pandemic caused a growing shift to online shopping.

Additionally, Tesco became one of the retail businesses to team up with the UK government to launch a fund that protects supply chains and supports international workers.

Therefore, the Department for International Development (DFID) launched the ‘vulnerable supply chains’ facility in partnership with some of the UK’s largest retailers such as Primark, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Marks & Spencer, which ensures a supply of products such as vegetables, coffee, and clothes, Retail Gazette stated.
