Based on the information provided in the press release, by leveraging Wix Owner App together with a compatible iPhone, merchants have the option of accepting and processing contactless payments through Wix with only an iPhone from either contactless credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets.
Tap to Pay on iPhone brings forth an accessible and easy method to simplify the payment transaction process and enable merchants to have payments accepted from anywhere. The announcement details that this method is a payment experience that is both trusted and secure and helps provide Wix merchants with increased flexibility for a confident expansion of their business, building upon Wix’s extensive product offerings that aim to help users with managing their business at each touchpoint.
When commenting on the collaboration, John Affaki, Terminal Business Lead at Stripe stated that Tap to Pay on iPhone gives merchants the option of accepting and processing contactless payments in a matter of seconds, with no additional hardware being needed. Furthermore, they advised that Wix merchants together with their customers are enabled to leverage Tap to Pay on iPhone anywhere with the knowledge that they are carrying out fast and secure payment transactions using iPhone.
Amit Sagiv and Volodymyr Tsukur, Co-Heads of Wix Payments added that the company is looking to constantly ‘evolve’ its solutions to help users increase their sales in the online and offline space in an efficient manner. The addition of Tap to Pay on iPhone is believed to provide merchants with a reliable and secure payment option that helps increase customer touchpoints and deliver new in-person experiences, ultimately helping optimise their multichannel strategy and increase the monetisation of their offline sales. Furthermore, Wix officials believe the partnership with Stripe to enable merchants with the flexibility to sell anytime, anywhere – be that in-store or on the go, as per their convenience so as to never miss a sale.
