More information on the product launch

eSIM Go was developed in order to enable businesses of any size to offer their own secure digital connectivity solutions to clients, as well as provide the needed features in order to scale their global opportunities and develop into the market in a faster and more efficient way.

By equipping digital wallet clients with global and secure connectivity possibilities, eSIM is expected to serve the dual purpose of traveling with ease and efficiency. At the same time, the procedure is set to optimise the overall access to digital banking solutions from multiple geographical areas around the globe.

Western Union eSIM will provide customers and users with the possibility to access wallet-friendly data roaming, either to leverage on their next foreign trip or to effortlessly send funds to their family, friends, loved ones, or acquaintances who are living abroad.

Throughout this product launch, Western Union’s digital wallet users who are based in Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania will be enabled to access the eSIM product from their digital banking application. Following this process, they will be allowed to transact in the currency and language of their choice. By leveraging or sending eSIMs, customers will have the possibility to stay connected with their family, while also accessing several bundles to choose from, ranging in size from GBP 1 to GBP 50, both for individual countries, areas, and regions.

eSIM can be purchased up to 12 months before the activation process is completed and installed on any eSIM-compatible devices. After clients make purchases, top-ups, and add coverage in extra countries in an easy and secure way on the same eSIM profile, customers will be enabled to move money and engage in Western Union solutions while traveling.

In addition, the incorporation of eSIM represents a valuable addition to Western Union’s customer experience, as it will meet the need to access convenient, reliable, and accessible data roaming, as well as to improved connectivity, extensive multi-network, and 5G eSIM coverage. The company will focus on remaining compliant with the regulatory requirements and laws of the industries as well.
