European cloud-based technology bank Viva.com has entered a strategic collaboration with BANCOMAT to allow its Italian merchant network to accept the latter’s payment methods.

As per the information detailed in the press release, Viva.com partnered with BANCOMAT in a bid to allow its Italy-based merchants to accept PagoBANCOMAT, as well as BANCOMAT Pay, the latter’s payment methods. As part of their strategic alliance, the two companies intend to expand their reach beyond current borders, while also providing merchants across Europe with the capability to proactively cater to international customers’ needs by implementing their preferred payment methods. Through these initiatives, merchants are set to be supported in advancing their global commerce operations and ensuring simplified and convenient transactions.

European cloud-based technology bank Viva.com has entered a strategic collaboration with BAMCOMAT to allow its Italian merchant network to accept the latter’s payment methods.

Viva.com – BANCOMAT collaboration objectives

The strategic partnership between the two companies allows both PagoBANCOMAT and BANCOMAT Pay to be available on Viva.com’s omnichannel payment platform, enabling them to Tap on Any Device technology feature of the Terminal app for in-store payments on more than 985 devices. In addition, the collaboration is set to provide the Smart Checkout hosted payment gateway for online stores, including all other payment channels, such as Viva.com’s marketplace payment solution for platforms.

By enabling the PagoBANCOMAT and BANCOMAT Pay circuit within Viva.com’s omnichannel payment platform, the two companies intend to increase conversion rates for local businesses, minimise cart abandonment, and boost sales. In addition, merchants operating within Viva.com’s network are set to receive improved convenience and cost efficiency, which can lead to higher customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, the membership with BANCOMAT is set to optimise the convenience, efficiency, and costs of Viva.com’s payments value chain. By connecting to local payment methods and schemes, Viva.com aims to advance its European expansion, while also delivering localised financial services. Viva.com intends to utilise its Europe-wide infrastructure to provide geographical expansion for BANCOMAT, offering comprehensive accessibility across the continent. According to BANCOMAT’s officials, the alliance with Viva.com is part of the company’s development strategy for its services across Europe. Representatives from Viva.com underscored that, by joining forces with BANCOMAT, the technology bank works towards enhancing its offering for Italian merchants, while also supporting the latter in expanding its operations in new European territories.

Viva.com’s recent developments

As a cloud-based technology bank, Viva.com focuses on enabling merchant payment acceptance across 24 counties and more than 985 devices. The company aims to provide a simplified, conversion-boosting omnichannel payment platform, which includes direct acceptance of over 40 payment methods across 17 languages and nine currencies. To advance its development strategy and enter additional geographies, Viva.com recently joined several collaborations.

For example, at the beginning of April 2024, Viva.com partnered with Austria-based payment brand Bluecode to extend the reach of the latter’s QR payments to merchants across all 15 Eurozone markets where it currently operates. The move was set to improve the customer experience and loyalty via a simplified payment solution.
