Uber for Business, Uber’s enterprise arm, has partnered with Brex and Ramp to modernise expense management.

The integrations with the expense management providers are set to automate receipt matching for Uber rides and meals, which are among the most-expensed items for employees, helping companies no matter the size simplify expenses and save time on and off the road.

Per the announcement information, over 200,000 companies use the Uber for Business platform to help offer rides and meals to employees, customers, and guests. The dashboard lets companies create travel and meal programmes that reflect their policies, including features such as restrictions on spending or time of day. Employees have a simplified end-to-end experience – from requesting a ride or ordering a meal on a user-friendly app to fast and easy reimbursement. Integrations with companies like Brex and Ramp help make the tail end of this process hassle-free for employees while simplifying operations for finance teams.

These integrations include the following benefits:

  • Time savings. Auto-generated receipts for Uber rides and meals ordered for delivery with Uber Eats eliminate the need for employees to collect, organise, and manually submit receipts when using Uber business profiles.

  • Improved compliance. Controls within Uber for Business allow companies to set limits for activities that employees can and can’t expense, resulting in 84% of 275 customers surveyed globally confirming that the platform enables them to better enforce compliance with their policies. AI-powered solutions from both expense providers can identify and flag non-compliant/out-of-policy transactions.

  • Effective cost controls. Real-time visibility into transportation and meal expenses helps companies track employee spending against budgets and adjust accordingly.

  • Simplified reconciliation. Automated receipt matching helps finance teams keep accurate books for an expedited and improved month-end close.

  • Easy onboarding. Overlapping customers can get set up in a matter of clicks, and once companies enable the integration, employees connected to their company’s Uber for Business account are automatically set up with the expense integration. Additionally, Uber for Business offers roster sync and automated invites to enable simple onboarding for new customers.

Ramp officials advised that Ramp looks to simplify finance, and the company’s expense automations seek to reimagine the process to make expense reporting increasingly simple for employees and more compliant for finance teams. The collaboration with Uber looks to automate expenses for customers’ most common business purchases and further make finance frictionless.

As per Brex data, 98% of companies consider travel essential for meeting business objectives, with most increasing their investment accordingly. Brex representatives stated that the Brex platform helps automate expense reporting for employees and provides finance teams with real-time visibility on corporate spending. What is more, the integration with Uber, which is a frequently expensed item for the company’s customers, comes as a natural extension of its efforts to simplify expense management and help mutual customers spend smarter.

More to this point, Uber’s spokesperson added that integrations with expense providers are instrumental in offering the visibility and control travel managers and finance teams require to keep employees in policy and under budget. Per their statement, the cooperation with Brex and Ramp enables Uber to simplify expenses for companies of all sizes, creating an improved experience for both the employees on the move and those balancing the books.
