Global retail management software Teamwork Commerce has launched an RFID-powered self-checkout solution looking to simplify the checkout process for in-store customers.

 

The technology enables customers to scan all items in an instant manner and reduces checkout times, aiming to make in-store experiences hassle-free.

Based on the information provided in the announcement, long queues and wait times at checkout are among the predominant reasons why customers leave stores or turn to online shopping. In an aim to counteract this, self-checkout was introduced as the first step in what now marks a ‘technological revolution’, with Catalina’s research highlighting that self-checkout accounts for 38% of transaction volume in the current retail environment.

In addition to helping simplify the checkout process for shoppers and enabling them to carry out transactions at their own pace, Teamwork Commerce's Self-Checkout technology provides a few additional benefits to standard-self checkout solutions.
