Square launches Square for Retail and Square Appointments

US-based Square has launched Square for Retail and Square Appointments, enabling sellers to offer flexible, on-the-go checkout experiences.

 

With the holiday season approaching, the launch of the two vertical-specific solutions on the Square Terminal is aimed at helping merchants around the globe improve their customer experience and provide checkout experiences that are flexible and timesaving. 

Using Square for Retail and Square Appointments on Square Terminal, businesses can increase their sales as they are enabled to ring up their customers in almost any location, be that at the counter, on the sales floor, in the chair, or another checkout counter opened to handle demand. 

This product launch announcement marks a milestone for the company, making Square’s full suite of commerce software available on all hardware, and thus enabling sellers to use versatile solutions that fit their operations to run, grow and adapt their business.

Square for Retail and Square Appointments product capabilities

With the use of Square for Retail and Square Appointments on Square Terminal, sellers have the option of offering instant and easy interactions with buyers from payments, returns, and exchanges to inventory inquiries, while simultaneously ensuring they do not miss any sales.

Having an integrated ecosystem, Square enables sellers to operate within a single platform for a complete business view. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions such as marketing and loyalty can be added by sellers to engage customers, Payroll and Team Management for staff managing, and checking and savings accounts can also be set up by sellers for banking and financial services. Currently, 46% of Square Appointments sellers and 59% of Square for Retail sellers use, in total, 3 or more Square products across markets.

Furthermore, merchants have the option of using Square Online integrations to simplify inventory across all locations and channels, wherever they are selling from during the holiday season. Additionally, Afterpay’s Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) functionality can be offered to consumers by retailers and beauty and personal care sellers, giving them more choice when it comes to their purchases and payment methods. 

Company representatives have stated in their press release that having Square for Retail and Square Appointments to Square Terminal launched ahead of the holiday season will enable businesses to access software and hardware integrations that help increase their operations efficiency and sales and meet consumers’ needs, no matter the time or the location. 

Square Terminal is available for purchase on on Square Shop, Amazon, BestBuy, Target, and Walmart, while Square for Retail and Square Appointments offer three monthly subscription plans: Free, Premium, and Plus.
